Anguilla


Have you ever been to Anguilla? Anguilla is a tiny island with the most beautiful clean beaches you have ever seen. It is just pure relaxation.  Anguilla is just about a 30mins boat ride (from the Dutch side) of Sint Maarten. The cost to Anguilla from French Saint Maarten is much cheaper than from the Dutch side. However, overall it is cheaper and more scenic to travel by boat from whatever side than by air. For boat schedules check out the following sites

I used the calypso charter and the crew was very nice. 



I simply turned up on the day of travel and purchased my tickets.  Now I see that you can make reservation online. The boat operated for the entire day so you can leave in the morning and return to St Maarten in the evening or you can just stay over in Anguilla.  There is a tax to be paid on leaving St Maarten to enter Anguilla and this is paid separate from the cost of the boat trip.

One thing I learnt was that the calypso charter leaves for different islands (eg  St Barth) on different days so you would need to check the schedule.   You can visit the following islands from Saint Martin/Sint Maarten using the links above:

Travelling with kids

Kids Travelling with kids can be challenging at times.  It is therefore important to be prepared to entertain them or keep them occupied so that you and the rest of the passengers can have some sort of peace. The video may be old but it is on point.   If you have a tablet or laptop etc make sure the battery life is to the max before leaving home so that they can have fun for the entire journey or at least most of it.   Watch the video to the end.   The last one is a classic.
