Packing

Image
Packing Packing for vacation is one thing but packing when leaving vacation is another especially when the vacation involves shopping.  I’ve discovered two methods of packing.  One involves layering the clothes while the other involves rolling the clothes up as small as possible.   I’ve tried both methods.   The layered method: The rolled or military style method: I think the rolled method works better if your bag comprises mainly of clothes.   The layered method works better when there are many bulky souvenirs like books, cups, plaques, shoes, electronics etc. since these can be placed and protected between layers of clothes.

Interesting hotel tricks

I came across this video from a friend on facebook.  I think I may try one or two of them starting with the cheese sandwich. One that was not outlined was drying clothes with the air condition unit.  I would wash my clothes with warm water.  I would then carry the temperature up on the A/C unit and place my washed clothes over it. In about ten minutes my clothes would be dry.

Alabama: Where to stay

So you're visiting Alabama and you're looking for somewhere to stay then Holiday Inn Express should be on your list.  It’s not that I have any vested interest in the hotel. The hotel is just great. The staff was polite, the room was clean, the internet was great and the breakfast was not to be missed.   A bonus is that the hotel is not to far from Walmart which means that you don't have to pack heavy. You can find almost anything in Walmart. So pack light and enjoy the shopping.  In all, the stay at Holiday Inn Express at Saraland was quite pleasant and should I ever revisit Alabama I do believe that I would stay there again.  Know of somewhere nice to stay in Alabama? Then feel free to make suggestions.  Let us know what you liked about the place. Suggestions on places not to stay at are also welcomed.  Holiday Inn Express (Saraland)

Battleship Memorial Park is a definite must. This Battleship Park is located at 2703 Battleship Parkway, Mobile, AL 36603. There are tanks, planes, submarine and of course, the battleship. On payment to enter the battleship, a map was given out.   This map helped us navigate the tour as there were no tour guides. We were free to walk about at our own pace and explore what we wanted. However, if you don’t like reading maps, you can simply follow the numbers and arrows that are placed throughout the ship.   The numbers and arrows were also colour coded and this helped us identify where we were on the ship. Once you’re finished with the ship, do remember to visit the building with the planes.   At the back of the building, there was the submarine.   You would be surprised at the amount of room in it.   To get to the submarine, you would need to pass through the hangar. (Inside the submarine)   In all we took appr...
