Tobago

   Tobago

Tobago is part of the twin island Republic of Trinidad and Tobago located at the southernmost part of the Caribbean (near Venezuela).  The native language is English (or a dialect of it).  The island is beautiful and laid back which is quite relaxing.

There are lots to do and see on the island.  I usually visit at least once every two years. Renting a vehicle is fairly cheap and it gives you the luxury of moving at your own pace.  Public transport is cheap although honestly speaking, I’ve never used it.  Other tourists I meet confess it’s the best for the tourist on a budget.  Public transport consists of shared taxis or buses. If you want, you can hire (privately) either to take you around the island but it would cost you a lot.

If you want to visit the sister island, Trinidad, you can do so by boat (https://ttitferry.com/index.php) or plane (http://www.caribbean-airlines.com/).  The boat takes approximately 2 1/2hrs and depending on the time of the year, the waters may be rough.  The plane takes roughly 30mins.
